DUHAMIC-ADRI, a national non-governmental organization legally operating in Rwanda since 1985, is calling for applications to fill three (3) Field Officer positions across its newly launched poultry project in the Western Province. In partnership with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), DUHAMIC-ADRI is implementing the "Partnership to Strengthen the Egg Value Chain in the Western Province of Rwanda" project across three districts Rusizi, Nyamasheke, and Karongi. The primary goal of this project is to increase the capacity of poultry farmers in egg production (SASSO) and establish localized input systems that consistently provide feed and day-old chicks (DOC) to poultry producers in the region.
This is an anticipated vacancy, and DUHAMIC-ADRI is looking for skilled, motivated, and community-driven professionals ready to make a tangible difference at the grassroots level.
POSITION DETAILS
- Job Title: Field Officer (3 Positions)
- Job Locations: 1 for Rusizi, 1 for Nyamasheke, 1 for Karongi
- Reports To: Project Coordinator
- Contract Type: One-year renewable based on performance
- Monthly Net Salary: 602,000 RWF
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Selected Field Officers will be expected to carry out the following:
- Lead field activities including registration of project participants, creation of egg producer groups, and integration of savings and financial education activities.
- Select Lead Farmers and local market facilitators, establish and manage demonstration sites, and provide peer-to-peer coaching to group members.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Development & Marketing Specialist to secure affordable markets and support the formation of Egg Producer Groups (EPGs).
- Organize and deliver cascading training sessions for Lead Farmers, provide on-site coaching, and conduct data collection and reporting.
- Facilitate project activities and events, monitor progress within the assigned area according to the approved implementation work plan.
- Serve as the project liaison in the area and support the identification, enrollment, training, and strengthening of poultry farmers.
- Strengthen partnerships between individual egg producers, local brooders, and other poultry stakeholders.
- Link matured producer groups to financial institutions and other service providers for loan access to invest in value addition tools and equipment.
- Prepare quality reports and ensure their timely submission to the Project Coordinator.
- Collaborate with local leaders, local market facilitators, lead farmers, and other relevant poultry value chain actors.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following qualifications and conditions:
- Education: At least a Bachelor's degree in Animal Production or Veterinary Sciences.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years working in community empowerment, agriculture value chain development with a focus on poultry, income generating activities, rural financing, farmers' organization, and market linkages.
- Skills: Strong and proven oral and written communication skills in English, along with advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Management: Demonstrated management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Age: Maximum age of 35 years old.
- Driving License: A valid Class A driving license is an added advantage.
- Availability: Must be available and ready to start immediately within March 2026.
