What You Will Do

As a Central Sterile and Supply Technician, you will play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in keeping patients safe by ensuring all medical instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the reprocessing of sterilized invasive medical devices for all clinical areas
  • Collecting used items and safely transporting them to the CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department)
  • Decontaminating used devices using both mechanical and manual methods per department policies
  • Inspecting and function-testing devices before and after sterilization
  • Reporting any equipment faults immediately to the department manager
  • Assembling and packaging devices for sterilization
  • Loading and unloading sterilizing equipment including washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers
  • Distributing processed devices according to hospital policy
  • Handling and storing raw components following departmental guidelines
  • Preparing requisite packs for theatres, wards, and departments

Qualifications Required

This position accepts candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds. Any ONE of the following qualifications is acceptable:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (0 years of experience required)

What You Will Do

As a Nurse in the Surgical Department, you will be at the heart of patient care, ensuring that every individual receives compassionate, high-quality nursing throughout their surgical journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout their stay
  • Administering and documenting medications as prescribed, while monitoring for side effects
  • Creating and implementing individualized nursing care plans
  • Participating in regular ward rounds with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, pain score, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose
  • Acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, nurse managers, and other healthcare professionals

What You Will Do

As a Medical Imaging Technologist at CHUK, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images that are critical to accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques
  • Performing a range of radiographic examinations to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Observing and maintaining patient contact during waiting, examination, and post-examination stages
  • Assisting in complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff
  • Providing support and reassurance to patients, addressing both physical and psychological needs
  • Recording imaging identification and patient documentation accurately, observing confidentiality protocols

  • Advanced Diploma in Radiology — 5 years of experience required
  • Advanced Diploma in Medical Imaging — 5 years of experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging Technology — 3 years of experience required, plus a valid registration certificate and license to practice issued by the Professional Council in Rwanda
