Position Overview

The Driver will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for the HealthyStart Project.

The successful candidate will transport project staff, consultants, visitors, research materials, equipment, medical supplies, and official documents while ensuring the assigned vehicle remains safe, clean, and roadworthy.

The position requires regular travel throughout Gicumbi District and other project locations in Rwanda.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation

The successful candidate will:

  • Safely transport project staff and visitors.
  • Drive investigators and consultants to study sites.
  • Support transportation during training sessions and community outreach.
  • Deliver project equipment and research materials.
  • Plan efficient travel routes.
  • Ensure timely transportation of official documents.

Vehicle Management

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Monitor fuel consumption.
  • Keep accurate mileage and fuel records.
  • Schedule routine servicing.
  • Report mechanical problems immediately.

Logistics Support

The Driver will also:

  • Load and unload project materials.
  • Transport medical supplies safely.
  • Deliver official correspondence.
  • Handle sensitive research equipment carefully.
  • Support distribution of project materials to health facilities.

Administrative Responsibilities

The Driver will:

  • Maintain vehicle logbooks.
  • Prepare monthly vehicle reports.

  • Report accidents immediately.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.

Safety and Compliance
