UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
Applications are now open for the University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship 2026. This prestigious opportunity offers financial support of up to $10,000 to outstanding international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in New Zealand. It is designed to attract high-achieving students from around the world to begin their academic journey at one of the country's top universities.
The scholarship is offered by the University of Auckland (Waipapa Taumata Rau), a globally recognized institution committed to academic excellence and international engagement. Established in 2016, this program supports talented students and enhances the university's diverse international community.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
Recipients of this scholarship will receive:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be an international student
- Be a new student with a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student, or enrolled in the Summer Start International programme
- Be enrolling full-time in an undergraduate degree, Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), or Master's degree
- Meet a minimum Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of 6.00
- Be applying with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications
Not eligible:
- Students who have already commenced studies (except Summer Start International programme)
- Students who have previously studied at tertiary level in New Zealand (except exchange programs)
- Students applying for certain Business Master's programs (with limited exceptions)
AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
Eligible programs include:
- Undergraduate degree programs
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) programs
- Master's degree programs
- UoA: Your Way Master of Engineering Project Management
- UoA: Your Way Master of Civil Engineering
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants should prepare:
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- Admission offer letter
- Personal statement or letter of application
- Reference letter from a referee
