📌 ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direction of the ASU Program Manager, the Coordinator will serve as a frontline support professional for Mastercard Foundation Scholars enrolled in ASU's online graduate programs. The role centers on building meaningful engagement, delivering student support services, and creating enriching learning experiences that promote academic achievement, leadership growth, and a strong sense of community among scholars at Kepler College.
The Coordinator will work closely with a collaborative team of program coordinators across the broader Scholars Program network, contributing to the design, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives that elevate the overall scholar experience.

- Location: Kigali, Rwanda
- Salary Range: 36,000,000 RWF – 43,000,000 RWF annually
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate signature program events and activities in collaboration with the Program Manager, including orientation sessions, monthly scholar meetings, and immersive summer experiences
- Serve as a dedicated academic advisor for assigned graduate scholars, monitoring their academic progress and coordinating timely interventions and support in partnership with faculty, staff, and academic units
- Lead reflective discussions and group activities that promote critical thinking, personal development, and community connection among scholars
- Coordinate logistics with university departments for both virtual and in-person program components
- Promote and connect scholars to ASU's service, volunteer, entrepreneurship, and social innovation opportunities
- Maintain accurate student records, program data, and budget tracking; prepare timely reports as required
- Act as a liaison between students, staff, faculty, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of wrap-around support services
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Education, Public Administration, Social Work, Instructional Design, Global Development, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be based in Kigali, Rwanda and able to commute regularly to the Kepler College campus
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Alumni of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (undergraduate or graduate level) is a strong advantage
- Experience in learning design, online classroom engagement, virtual facilitation, or instructional content creation
- Prior experience in scholarship program coordination and administration
- Familiarity with sub-Saharan Africa and youth-focused development initiatives
- Strong decision-making ability with a commitment to serving the best interests of scholars and stakeholders
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Occasional evening or early morning hours may be required to accommodate scholar availability and collaboration across global time zones
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Ability to thrive both independently and within a dynamic, structured international team environment
