The Transilvania Academica Scholarship (TAS) 2026 is a fully funded competition open to international students from non-EU and non-EEA countries who wish to pursue a Master's degree at Transilvania University of Brașov in Romania. Here is a complete breakdown of what the scholarship covers, who qualifies, and how the selection process works.

Objectives of the Program

The scholarship serves two key goals. First, to attract talented international students to study at Transilvania University. Second, to build a network of university ambassadors who help increase the institution's global visibility and reputation.

Eligibility

To apply, candidates must:

• Be a citizen of a non-EU or non-EEA country
• Hold a Bachelor's degree or be a graduate awaiting their diploma

Candidates must complete the online application form as part of the official application process.

Duration

The scholarship is awarded for the full duration of the Master's program to which the candidate is accepted. If the selected program is taught entirely in Romanian, the scholarship also covers the Romanian language preparatory year. To retain the scholarship for subsequent years, students must fully pass each academic year.

What the Scholarship Covers

Selected candidates will receive:

• Full tuition fees, including registration and graduation fees
• Free accommodation in university dormitories, including during holidays
• A monthly allowance of 800 Romanian Lei (approximately $170 USD), including holidays

Note that travel expenses and visa costs for Romania are not covered and must be paid by the candidate.

Required Documents

All documents must be submitted in PDF format and in English. Incomplete applications will be rejected, and no documents can be added after the deadline.

Prepare the following:

• Curriculum Vitae highlighting outstanding academic achievements
• Motivation Letter of no more than one page
• Three Letters of Recommendation supporting your academic record
• Bachelor's Degree Diploma or a provisional graduation certificate if the diploma has not yet been issued

Selection Process

Applications are evaluated by a board appointed by the Rector of Transilvania University of Brașov. Selection is based entirely on the quality of the submitted documents.

The selection calendar is as follows:

• 23 Feb – 10 Apr 2026: Online application registration
• 13 Apr – 08 May 2026: Evaluation of application files
• 11 May – 25 May 2026: Approval of the selected candidates' list
• 27 May 2026: Selected candidates notified by email

Only successful candidates will be contacted. If selected, you will then be required to go through Transilvania University's standard admission procedure for non-EU citizens.
