Dear Young Rwandan,

There is a moment in every young person's life when the right opportunity arrives at exactly the right time. This might be yours.

The Ingazi Youth Ambassadors Programme Cohort 2 is now officially open for applications. Backed by the Ministry of Youth and Arts, in partnership with UNICEF and Generation Unlimited, this programme is recruiting 50 young leaders across five districts in Rwanda young people who are ready to serve their communities while building the professional foundation for their own futures.

If you have been looking for an opportunity that is meaningful, structured, skill-building, and rewarding all at once, read every word of this post carefully. The deadline is May 15, 2026, and spots are limited.

The Problem This Programme Was Built to Solve

Rwanda's youth are talented, ambitious, and hardworking. Yet a persistent challenge remains: the gap between the skills young people graduate with and the skills the labor market demands continues to hold many of them back.

Young people across the country particularly in districts outside major urban centers often complete their studies without access to relevant vocational training, without a clear picture of which industries are growing, and without trusted channels to find job or entrepreneurship opportunities. The result is that even the most motivated graduates can spend years unable to take the next step toward a sustainable career.

INGAZI was designed to close this gap permanently.

ABOUT INGAZI

INGAZI is a government-backed digital platform that consolidates everything a young Rwandan needs to transition successfully from education into the world of work. The platform delivers three core services:

  • Free, Certified Skills Training: Young people can access tutorials and certified courses in high-demand sectors at no cost, building credentials that employers actually recognize and value.
  • Practical Career Guidance: INGAZI does not offer vague advice. It provides clear, data-informed guidance on which industries are expanding, what roles exist within them, and how to develop the right portfolio to compete for those roles.
  • Direct Access to Opportunities: Jobs, internships, and entrepreneurship grants are available directly through the platform, removing the barriers that typically stand between a motivated young person and their first real opportunity.

In short, INGAZI is a passport to earning. But a digital platform, no matter how well-built, cannot reach every young person on its own. Those in remote communities, those with limited digital confidence, and those simply unaware of the platform's existence risk being left behind without direct, human support.

That is precisely why the Ingazi Ambassadors Programme exists and why the role you could play in it matters enormously.

What Is an Ingazi Youth Ambassador?

An Ingazi Youth Ambassador is a trained, community-based representative who serves as the human bridge between the INGAZI platform and the young people in their district who need it most.

As an Ambassador, you will operate within your own community reaching peers where they are, helping them register on the platform, guiding them through course selection and completion, and supporting them to apply for real jobs and internship opportunities.

Your outreach will be deliberately inclusive. You will be expected to actively engage young people with disabilities, those living in remote or underserved areas, and youth with limited digital literacy or device access. The programme's core principle is simple and non-negotiable: no young person in your district should be left behind.

This is not a desk job. It is active, purposeful, community-level work and it carries with it a level of professional development that few entry-level positions can match.

Why This Opportunity Is Worth Your Full Attention

1. A Goal-Based Monthly Stipend

Ambassadors who consistently meet their monthly performance targets are eligible to earn RWF 110,833 per month throughout the six-month programme. This is not a token amount it is income tied to impact, rewarding you for the real work you do in your community.

2. Professional Skills That Set You Apart

One of the most common barriers young job seekers face is the frustrating cycle of needing experience to get a job, but needing a job to get experience. This programme breaks that cycle. By the end of your six months, you will have documented, hands-on experience in:

  • Community mobilization and inclusive outreach
  • Digital platform navigation and data dashboard usage
  • Career guidance and CV development support
  • Short-form content creation for social media and awareness campaigns
  • Performance monitoring, reporting, and data tracking

These are not theoretical skills. They are the exact competencies employers look for and you will have real-world evidence of each one.

3. A Competitive Edge for Your Next Career Step

Completing this programme positions you as a strong candidate for entry-level roles, internships, and freelance opportunities within the INGAZI labour market ecosystem. Standout performers are also well-placed for leadership roles in future cohorts. This programme is a launchpad, not just a listing on your CV.

4. A Structured Support System

You will not be left to figure things out alone. Monthly refresher webinars connect all Ambassadors for performance reviews, strategy sessions, peer learning, and direct guidance from the programme team. One Ambassador per district will also serve as a District Coordinator, strengthening local accountability and support.

5. Meaningful, Lasting Community Impact

Beyond the professional returns, there is something more enduring at stake here. Every young person you help register is a life you have connected to opportunity. Every course completion you support is a skill that person will carry forward. Every job or internship placement you help facilitate is a future you helped make possible in your district, among your own people. That kind of contribution does not expire.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Ingazi Youth Ambassadors Programme – Cohort 2, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Age: You are between 18 and 30 years old

Monthly Performance Targets What Is Expected of You

Transparency is central to this programme. As an Ingazi Ambassador, you will be held to the following monthly performance benchmarks:

  • Register at least 167 young people on the INGAZI learning platform each month
  • Support at least 25 course completions per month
  • Facilitate at least one job or internship placement every two months

These are ambitious targets deliberately so. The programme is designed for young people who take their commitments seriously and are willing to work consistently to deliver results.

Participation in monthly refresher webinars is mandatory and directly tied to stipend eligibility. These sessions cover individual and group performance monitoring, field experience sharing, user feedback collection, monthly priority setting, and strategic outreach planning.

All Ambassadors are also required to uphold strict safeguarding principles in every community interaction particularly when engaging with minors and vulnerable individuals. Pre-programme training on safeguarding, harm recognition, and confidentiality will be provided before the term begins.
