ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has officially launched the third edition of its fully funded, partially funded, and self-funded scholarships, providing international students with the chance to study Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programs at some of Iraq's most prestigious public and private universities.
The program aims to foster academic cooperation and cultural exchange, with programs available in Arabic, English, or Kurdish depending on the university.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
The Study in Iraq Scholarships come in three main categories: Fully Funded Scholarships covering tuition fees, accommodation, and health insurance; and Partially Funded Scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition fees.
The fully funded category also includes a monthly stipend for selected recipients.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS & FIELDS OF STUDY
Scholarships are available in medical and health sciences, engineering, pure sciences, agriculture, veterinary, administrative, law and political, educational, and humanities disciplines, and are open for undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, master's, and doctoral levels.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Undergraduate Applicants:
Applicants must be foreigners or Arabs of non-Iraqi parentage, exclusively from foreign or non-Iraqi Arab origins. Neither the applicant nor their parents should hold Iraqi origin.
- Must hold a non-Iraqi high school certificate
- Minimum average for General Medicine: 85%; Dentistry and Pharmacy: 75%; Engineering and Nursing: 65%; Other scientific and humanities specializations: 60%
- Must not have previously secured an academic seat in any Iraqi public or private university
Postgraduate Applicants (Master's & PhD):
- Must hold a bachelor's degree (for master's) or master's degree (for PhD)
- Minimum average of 65% for Postgraduate Diploma and Master's; 75% for PhD
- Must not be more than 40 years of age for a Master's degree or 45 years for a PhD
The following documents are required: colored translated copies (Arabic or English) of educational certificates certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Iraqi embassy; a valid passport with at least two years of validity; proof of the student's origins including birth certificate or national identity card; and a written pledge not to have applied to any Iraqi public university or private college through other admission channels.
Additional documents may include:

- Proof of English or Arabic language proficiency
- Research proposal (for PhD applicants)
- Statement of purpose
