Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Community and Family-Based Support Specialist. This role focuses on strengthening community systems to support child protection, family welfare, and holistic child development.
The selected candidate will work closely with community stakeholders, government partners, and program teams to enhance family-based care, promote early childhood development (ECD), and ensure effective implementation of child protection policies and programs.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet one of the following academic and professional requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's Degree in Sociology with 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies with 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's Degree in Development Studies with 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's Degree in Social Work with 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health with 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's Degree in Public Health with 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development with 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development with 3 years of relevant experience
Additional Requirements:
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English and/or French (Swahili is an added advantage)
- Strong knowledge of child protection systems in Rwanda
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy and strong analytical abilities
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
- Community and Family-Based Support Specialist (1 Position)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate community-based child and family support initiatives
- Collaborate with local leaders to promote ECD, nutrition, and child protection awareness
- Strengthen parents' and caregivers' capacity for child development
- Organize and report on capacity-building activities for caregivers, CHWs, and Friends of the Family (IZU)
- Facilitate access to ECD services, healthcare, and social protection programs
- Track nutrition and WASH indicators at community and facility levels
- Support identification of safe family-based care solutions, including foster care
- Ensure compliance with national child safeguarding policies
- Supervise and support Friends of the Family in their community roles
- Strengthen community systems for sustainable service delivery
- Build partnerships with public and private stakeholders
- Document program progress, challenges, and case studies
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
