About COOPEC IKIRENGA: A Story of Strategic Unity

COOPEC IKIRENGA represents a milestone in Rwanda's cooperative banking sector. Established in 2024 through the strategic merger of five prominent SACCOs, COOPEC ITI, COOPEC CODEMARU, CSTCR SACCO, CSPKI, and TRASO, the institution embodies the power of collaboration and scale in delivering financial services.

Supervised by the National Bank of Rwanda, COOPEC IKIRENGA operates with the regulatory oversight and professional standards that ensure member confidence and operational excellence. Headquartered in Rulindo District, Base Sector, Rwamahwa Cell, the cooperative maintains its legacy branches, ensuring continuity of service while building a stronger, unified institution.

The Critical Role of Tellers in Cooperative Banking

Tellers serve as the front line of financial service delivery. They are often the first and most frequent point of contact between the institution and its members, making their role essential not only for operational efficiency but also for building lasting member relationships and trust.

In the context of cooperative banking, where member satisfaction and community engagement are paramount, tellers do more than process transactions they serve as ambassadors of the institution's values and commitment to service excellence.

Current Opportunities: Two Teller Positions

COOPEC IKIRENGA is currently recruiting two qualified individuals to join its team as Tellers. These positions offer an excellent entry point into the financial services industry and an opportunity to contribute to Rwanda's financial inclusion agenda.

Key Responsibilities: More Than Transaction Processing

Working under the supervision of the Branch Operations Officer, Outlet Responsible, or Customer Care team, successful candidates will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities:

Core Banking Services

Transfer Operations

Cheque Services

Processing cheque-related services, such as crediting cheques to member accounts, demands precision and adherence to banking protocols. Tellers must understand the verification processes and timelines associated with cheque transactions.

Operational Support

Beyond direct member services, tellers support critical operational functions, including day closure procedures and the proper management of till operations from opening and filling to discharging and closing. These processes are fundamental to maintaining accurate records and ensuring operational integrity.

Cross-Selling and Member Growth

Modern banking requires tellers to be proactive in identifying member needs and cross-selling appropriate products and services. This aspect of the role contributes directly to the institution's growth and enhanced member value.
