1. Data & AI Director

- Net Salary: RWF 1,000,000 – RWF 1,300,000 per month
About the Position
Water Access Rwanda is looking for an experienced and strategic Data & AI Director to lead the organization's digital transformation, artificial intelligence initiatives, and carbon impact data systems.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will oversee the organization's data strategy while providing strategic leadership to the Senior IT Officer.
This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing the organization's data strategy.
- Leading AI adoption and innovation across departments.
- Managing carbon credit data infrastructure and impact monetization.
- Establishing strong data governance and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Supervising the IT Senior Officer and leading the data team.
- Ensuring organizational data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A master's degree is an added advantage.
- At least five (5) years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or strategic data leadership.
- Demonstrated experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools.
- Strong proficiency in:
- SQL
- Python
- Power BI or Tableau
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a lean team environment.
Salary & Benefits
Successful candidates will receive:
- Base Salary: RWF 1,030,136 (gross)
- Transport Allowance: RWF 578,571 (gross)
- Retention Pay: RWF 300,000 per month after probation
- Estimated Net Monthly Salary: RWF 1,000,000 – RWF 1,300,000

- Net Salary: RWF 187,000 – RWF 221,000 per month
About the Position
Water Access Rwanda is also recruiting a professional Company Driver to safely transport staff, partners, and equipment between the Kigali office, project sites, government institutions, and partner organizations.
The successful candidate will become an important ambassador of the organization while ensuring vehicle safety, compliance, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Safe transportation of staff and organizational equipment.
- Daily vehicle inspection, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate trip and fuel records.
- Representing Water Access Rwanda professionally.
- Following all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensuring compliance with anti-corruption and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- High school certificate (A2), TVET qualification, or recognized vocational driving certificate.
- Valid Rwandan Driving License covering at least two categories among:
B
- C
- D
- F
- Minimum three years of professional driving experience (preferred).
- Clean driving record.
Skills Required
Ideal candidates should demonstrate:
- Basic vehicle mechanical knowledge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda.
- English language skills are an added advantage.
- Excellent time management.
- Honesty, accountability, and professionalism.
- Ability to manage changing schedules and multiple assignments.
Salary & Benefits
The successful applicant will receive:
- Base Salary: RWF 165,340 (gross)
- Transport Allowance: RWF 83,900 (gross)
- Retention Pay: RWF 35,000 (gross)
- Annual salary review (5–7% cost-of-living adjustment)
- RSSB contributions

- Public holiday benefits
- Net Salary:
RWF 187,000 during probation
- Up to RWF 221,000 after probation
