About U.H Mining Company Ltd
U.H Mining Company Ltd is a rapidly growing mining company operating under the RANI Group. The company is actively engaged in the exploration and extraction of strategic minerals across Rwanda while maintaining high standards of operational excellence, environmental sustainability, workplace safety, innovation, and responsible resource development.
As part of its ongoing expansion and mechanization programme, the company is strengthening its technical workforce by recruiting seven qualified Mining Engineers to support mine planning, production, and operational efficiency.
Position Summary
The successful candidates will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will play a key role in planning, supervising, and improving underground and surface mining operations. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising underground and surface mining operations.
- Developing mine plans and production schedules.
- Monitoring daily production targets and improving operational efficiency.
- Designing and implementing drilling and blasting programmes.
- Ensuring compliance with mining legislation, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Coordinating mine ventilation, ground support, and infrastructure activities.
- Conducting routine mine inspections and recommending operational improvements.
- Collaborating with Geologists, Surveyors, Processing Engineers, and Maintenance teams.
- Supporting the implementation of mechanized mining systems.
- Supervising mining crews and contractors.
- Preparing technical reports and production forecasts.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
- At least three (3) years of relevant mining experience.
- Underground mining experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Knowledge of mine planning and production software.
- Strong understanding of drilling, blasting, mine ventilation, and mine safety.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in remote mining locations.
- High standards of integrity and professionalism.
- Good proficiency in both English and Kinyarwanda.
- Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
