The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has officially opened its online portal for the recruitment of Markers and Assessors for the 2025–2026 national examination cycle. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following general conditions:
- Must be a Rwandan national with a valid National Identification Card.
- Must be a qualified teacher (in-service) or an external professional with relevant subject expertise.
- Must hold a recognized academic qualification in the subject area they wish to assess or mark.
- Must have a clean professional record, free from any history of examination malpractice.
- Must be available and committed for the full duration of the assessment or marking exercise.
- Must be able to attend mandatory NESA training/standardization sessions before the exercise begins.

The NESA portal is currently open for the following four positions. The recruitment window is 01/07/2025 – 1/09/2026, and applications are accepted from both Teachers and External professionals where indicated.

Duties and Responsibilities
For Assessors (PBA, TTC, ANP, ACC, TSS):
- Conduct practical examinations in line with NESA's established assessment standards.
- Evaluate candidates objectively using defined competency-based criteria.
- Attend the mandatory pre-assessment standardization meeting organized by NESA.
- Submit assessment records accurately and within the required timeframe.
- Maintain full confidentiality of all examination materials and candidate information.
For Markers (Written Examinations opening soon):
- Mark assigned candidate scripts using the official NESA marking guide.
- Apply the marking scheme consistently across all scripts without deviation.
- Submit completed mark sheets to the Chief Marker by the stipulated deadline.
- Report any suspected irregularities immediately to the supervising officer.
Required Documents
Before visiting the portal, prepare the following:
- Valid National Identification Card scanned copy in PDF or JPG format.
- Academic/professional certificates relevant to the subject or exam level you are applying for.
- A recent passport-size photograph (JPG format, approximately 200KB or less).
- Employment letter or school affiliation document confirming your current teaching or professional role.
- Any prior marking or assessment experience documentation, if available.
