Role Overview

Kigali Marriott Hotel is looking for an energetic and safety-conscious Lifeguard to join our Recreation team. In this role, you will ensure the safety and well-being of guests in our recreational facilities, lead engaging fitness sessions, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct group fitness classes (aerobics, spinning, strength training) for all ability levels
• Advise guests on the correct and safe use of fitness equipment
• Assess individual fitness levels and develop personalized exercise programs
• Monitor recreational areas and respond promptly to emergencies
• Provide first aid to injured guests pending arrival of medical services
• Maintain cleanliness of the recreational area, equipment, and supplies
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management
• Deliver warm, professional service that reflects Marriott's hospitality standards

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience

Certifications Required:

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Fitness Equipment Certification
• Fitness Instruction Certification
• Any additional certifications required by local authorities

Supervisory Experience: Not required

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended shifts; lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs independently (75+ lbs with assistance); and navigate stairs, ramps, and uneven surfaces comfortably.
