IUCEA UNDERGRADUATE FULL SCHOLARSHIPS 2026
Applications are now open for the KDU Global – IUCEA Undergraduate Full and Partial Scholarships 2026 (7th Cohort) for students from East African Community (EAC) member countries. The scholarship offers an opportunity for outstanding students to pursue English-taught undergraduate degree programs in South Korea with either full or partial financial support. The program is a partnership between the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) and Kyungdong University Global, aimed at strengthening higher education opportunities for students from East African Community partner states, including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
1. Full Scholarships cover:
- Full tuition fee of $8,000 per year for up to 4 years (provided by KDU Global)
- Dormitory accommodation worth $4,400 for the first two years (provided by KDU Global)
- Return air ticket at the start and end of the program (provided by IUCEA)
- Monthly health insurance support for 4 years (provided by IUCEA)
- Application processing and handling fee of $250 after selection (provided by IUCEA)
2. Partial Scholarships: Students or their parents cover personal expenses such as accommodation, airfare, application fees, and health insurance. However, KDU Global provides tuition support based on academic performance.
a) First Semester: Full tuition waiver of $4,000 (provided by KDU Global)
b) Second Semester: Onwards (Performance-Based Tuition Scholarship):
- 100% tuition scholarship, Average mark 95 or above
- 70% scholarship Average 90–94 (Student pays $1,200)
- 50% scholarship Average 80–89 (Student pays $2,000)
- 30% scholarship Average 75–79 (Student pays $2,800)
Students are also allowed to work part-time while studying in South Korea, and KDU Global assists students in securing part-time jobs. More than 99% of students at KDU Global work part-time during their studies.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen and resident of an EAC partner state (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, or Somalia)
- Must have completed secondary school in 2024, 2025, or 2026
- Must have excellent academic performance, with at least a grade B in Mathematics and English
- Must provide an English proficiency certificate: IELTS 5.5 or higher, or TOEFL iBT 71 or higher
- Must be 22 years old or younger
Financial Proof Requirement:
- Full Scholarship Applicants: Sponsor bank statement showing at least $5,000 (6-month bank statement and bank balance certificate)
- Partial Scholarship Applicants: Sponsor bank statement showing at least $16,000
Sponsors must be parents or the applicant themselves. If parents are deceased, biological siblings may serve as sponsors.

Students may apply for the following English-taught undergraduate programs:
- Bachelor of International Business Administration
- Bachelor of International Hotel Management
- Bachelor of Smart Computing (Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, IoT)
- Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence
- Bachelor of Korean Business AI
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants must submit the following documents for the initial assessment:
- Completed Application Form and Student Code of Conduct
- Academic Transcript and Certificate of Graduation
- Passport copy
- English proficiency certificate (IELTS or TOEFL)
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
The selection process consists of two stages:
Stage I: Preliminary Selection by IUCEA
Applicants must complete the online application form, download and complete the Application Form and Student Code of Conduct, then combine all required documents into one PDF file and send them to:
Stage II: Final Selection by KDU Global
Shortlisted candidates will undergo individual interviews conducted by KDU Global.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The undergraduate programs are delivered in English and run for four years (8 semesters), beginning 31 August 2026, subject to continued academic performance and compliance with university regulations. Students with the highest academic and interview performance will receive full scholarships, while others may receive partial scholarships.
