Programme Overview
The GOI-IES initiative is funded by the Government of Ireland and administered in partnership with the Higher Education Authority (HEA) alongside participating Irish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Each year, 60 scholarships are awarded to exceptional students for full-time study at NFQ Levels 9 and 10. The award covers financial support and tuition fees for one academic year.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:

- 🎓 Full tuition fee waiver from the host higher education institution for the scholarship year

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be domiciled outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom
- Hold a conditional or final offer of admission to an eligible Master’s, Postgraduate Diploma, or PhD programme at a participating Irish HEI
- Not have previously received a GOI-IES scholarship
- Not be nationals of Russia or Belarus

Eligible Programmes
The scholarship supports full-time study at NFQ Levels 9 and 10, including:

- Postgraduate diplomas
- PhD programmes
Only programmes offered by participating Irish higher education institutions qualify under the GOI-IES scheme.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Proof of conditional or final admission to an eligible programme
- Two references submitted through the official online application portal
- Any additional documentation requested by the host institution
Application Procedure
- Confirm eligibility (both personal and programme eligibility) with the host institution.
- Submit your application via the official 2026 GOI-IES online portal.
- Upload all required supporting documents and references.
- Ensure submission before the deadline late applications will not be considered.
