RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

ISONGA SACCO KICUKIRO is a District Savings and Credit Cooperative (D-SACCO) formed through the consolidation of 10 U-SACCOs operating within Kicukiro District, in line with the Government of Rwanda's SACCO consolidation framework.

ISONGA SACCO KICUKIRO is seeking qualified, competent, committed, proactive, and self-motivated individuals to fill the following positions:

Position: Teller 
Department: Branch Level 
Reporting to: Branch Operations Officer 
Number of Positions: 7

Job Summary

The Teller is responsible for delivering efficient, accurate, and courteous financial services to members and clients. Key functions include handling cash transactions, processing deposits and withdrawals, attending to account inquiries, promoting SACCO products and services, and ensuring full compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Branch Operations Officer/Outlet responsible, the Teller shall:

• Deliver assigned tasks diligently and on time, producing quality results
• Comply with all instructions from the employer or authorized representative
• Welcome and assist members seeking deposit and withdrawal services
• Receive cash deposits and process withdrawals; count and verify cash before and after transactions; correctly complete member booklets; and detect counterfeit currency
• Handle cash requisitions
• Manage the till, including discharge and closing procedures with a supervisor at end of day
• Participate in member and non-member mobilization activities
• Verify member identification prior to transactions and report any suspicious activity to supervisors
• Provide all documentation supporting daily operations
• Be accountable for all errors arising from daily operations, including cash shortages or surpluses
• Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor or superior authority that do not conflict with applicable laws and regulations

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of banking procedures
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a cashier, accounting, or similar cash-handling role within a Bank, Microfinance Institution, SACCO, or comparable organization
• Demonstrated ability to handle cash accurately and securely
• Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and core banking systems
• Working knowledge of financial regulations, including guidelines issued by the National Bank of Rwanda
• Strong numerical aptitude and keen attention to detail
• High standards of honesty and integrity
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to perform well under pressure
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an added advantage)
