About the Internship
Laterite is seeking three motivated and compassionate TVET graduates to join a research initiative focused on understanding the career pathways available to TVET graduates in Rwanda. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research, interviewing, and data analysis while contributing to meaningful development work.
Internship Benefits
- 20 working days internship structured as follows:
- 7 days of preparation before data collection
- 8 days of data collection
- 5 days of data analysis support
- Travel and accommodation expenses fully covered during fieldwork
- Competitive daily payment:
- 15,000 RWF per day for training and office work
- 25,000 RWF per day for fieldwork days
- Hands-on experience in research, interviewing, and data analysis
- Professional exposure to a leading international research firm
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Graduated from a secondary TVET school after January 1st, 2024
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate and comfortable engaging with students and graduates
- Ability to work independently after training
- Basic knowledge of Excel or willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate in French or English (an advantage)
- No prior interviewing experience required
Available Positions
- Number of Positions: Three (3) Internship Positions
- Location: Kigali (with travel to Musanze and Nyanza districts)
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected interns will support the project in three key phases:
- Preparation Phase
- Assist in preparing interview questions before visiting TVET schools
- Data Collection Phase
- Participate in school visits every Friday and Saturday from March 13th to April 3rd
- Conduct interviews with TVET students about their school experiences and future career aspirations
- Post-Interview Phase
- Help analyze interview responses
- Identify and summarize key themes emerging from the data
