The Position

Job Title: Accountant
Location: RITCO Kigali Head Office
Reports to: Director of Finance

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Let's be clear about what this role involves:

Financial Systems & Advisory
You'll improve RITCO's financial management systems, recommend software solutions, and develop a customized chart of accounts that fits their business. You'll also ensure accounting and billing processes work seamlessly together.

Budgeting
Prepare the annual budget and create guidelines that other departments can use when planning their own budgets. This gives you real influence over company-wide financial planning.

Internal Controls & Audits
Implement internal controls and support both external and internal audits. Your work keeps the company compliant and transparent.

Day-to-Day Finance Work
Manage revenue accounting, attend professional development meetings, stay current with finance trends, and handle other duties assigned by your director.

Who RITCO Is Looking For

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required)
• CPA certification (required)
• ACCA qualification (big plus)

Experience:

• 5 to 8 years in accounting
• At least 5 years specifically as an accountant

Skills That Matter:

• You understand accounting and internal controls inside out
• Advanced Excel skills you can handle large datasets without breaking a sweat
• Experience with accounting software at an advanced level
• Detail-oriented but can see the bigger business picture
• Able to juggle multiple projects and actually meet deadlines
• You've supervised teams before and can lead effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Can work well with different personalities, even in challenging situations
