The Role at a Glance

What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will be diverse and meaningful:
Transportation Services: You'll provide safe, reliable transportation for staff and visitors, plan efficient routes considering traffic and road conditions, and ensure punctuality for meetings, airport transfers, and field visits. You'll also transport program materials and equipment to sites across Rwanda.
Vehicle Maintenance: Daily vehicle inspections will be part of your routine, ensuring everything from fuel levels to brakes and lights are in perfect working order. You'll keep the vehicle clean, coordinate servicing with approved garages, and ensure all documentation like insurance and road tax, stays current.
Safety First: You'll strictly adhere to Rwanda's traffic laws and organizational policies, ensure all passengers wear seatbelts, maintain valid licenses and documents, and report any incidents immediately. Safety isn't just a priority; it's the foundation of this role.
Administrative Tasks: Maintaining accurate vehicle logbooks, submitting fuel receipts and maintenance records, and preparing monthly reports will keep operations running smoothly. You might also assist with office errands like bank runs and document deliveries.
Logistics Support: You'll help with procurement activities, loading and unloading program materials, and coordinating transport for workshops and training events.
Who They're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- Secondary school certificate (O'Level) minimum
- Valid Rwanda driving license (Category B minimum; Category D/E preferred)
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience, ideally with NGOs or international organizations
- A clean driving record with no major violations or accidents
- Strong knowledge of Rwanda's road network and traffic regulations
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
- Good communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is a bonus)
