This is a fully funded scholarship. Selected candidates will receive the following benefits throughout their studies in Romania:

- Full tuition coverage: Your tuition for the Romanian language preparatory year (if applicable) and your entire study programme is fully paid.
- Monthly financial stipend: A monthly allowance is provided to students enrolled in the preparatory year, Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD programmes to cover daily living expenses.
- Student accommodation: Housing in government-subsidized student dormitories across Romania.
- Romanian language preparatory year: If your chosen programme requires it, you will have access to a full year of Romanian language training, also fully covered.

✅ Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria
The Romanian Government Scholarship is designed for academically strong students from outside the European Union. Before preparing your documents, confirm that you meet all of the following criteria:
- You must be a citizen of a non-EU country. Certain exceptions apply, including Romanian-origin citizens and members of diplomatic missions.
- You must have good academic results a minimum average of 7 out of 10, or the equivalent of a "Good" grade in your country's grading system, for the last completed level of education.
- You must submit a complete application file with all required documents uploaded correctly.

Important: This scholarship is NOT available for Medicine, Dental Medicine, or Pharmacy programmes. Students interested in those fields should seek alternative funding.
🏛️ Available Study Programmes
You may apply for any of the three academic cycles offered by accredited higher education institutions across Romania:
- Bachelor's Degree: Duration of 3 to 6 years, open to high school graduates or students seeking their first undergraduate degree.
- Master's Degree: Duration of 1 to 2 years, open to graduates who already hold a Bachelor's degree.
- PhD / Doctoral Studies: Duration of 4 years, open to graduates holding a Master's degree. PhD applicants must also secure prior written agreement from a doctoral tutor and pass an admission interview before their scholarship can be confirmed.
Romania's universities offer programmes across a wide range of fields including engineering, technology, economics, law, arts, natural sciences, social sciences, architecture, and more.
📄 Required Documents
All documents must be uploaded as individual PDF files through the official Study in Romania online platform. Physical copies and email submissions are not accepted. Ensure that every document is apostilled or officially authenticated as required by Romanian authorities.
The following documents are required for all applicants:
- Copies of your diplomas and academic transcripts, with authorized translations into Romanian, English, or French if the originals are in another language
- Copy of your birth certificate
- Copy of the first three pages of a valid passport
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV) written in English, French, or Romanian
PhD applicants must additionally provide:
- A letter of intent including a description of your research project
- A signed agreement from your chosen doctoral tutor confirming their acceptance to supervise your research
Other applicants may also need:
- Proof of name change (if your name differs across documents)
- Parental consent letter for applicants who are minors
- Romanian language certificates, if applicable

The entire application process is online. No in-person visits or email submissions are accepted under any circumstances.
- Step 1: Create Your Account Go to the official Study in Romania platform and create a new applicant account. Use an email address that you check regularly, as all official communications will be sent there.
- Step 2: Complete Your Application Log in and fill in all requested personal, academic, and programme information. Choose your preferred Romanian university and study programme carefully, as changes after submission may not be possible.
- Step 3: Upload Your Documents Upload each required document as a separate PDF file. Verify that all documents are properly authenticated before uploading. Review everything twice before you proceed.
- Step 4: Submit and Wait Submit your completed application through the platform. Once submitted, your file will go through a competitive evaluation process. Results will be officially announced around 15 July 2026.
