About the TRIBE HUB Project
The Transforming Rwanda Biomedical Center into a Center of Excellence for Public Health (TRIBE HUB) project contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by strengthening Rwanda's public health system.
The project focuses on:
- Strengthening institutional capacity of Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC)
- Supporting the National Public Health Institute
- Improving digital health systems
- Enhancing health data management
- Strengthening analytics and evidence-based decision-making

Internship Responsibilities
Successful interns will work under the supervision of the Health Project Manager while collaborating closely with experts from:
- Ministry of Health
- Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC)
- National Public Health Institute (NPHI)
The interns will support research and evidence generation through secondary analysis of DHS VII and other public health datasets.
Their work will contribute to improving programs addressing:
- Malaria
- HIV/AIDS
- Childhood Stunting
- Maternal Mortality
- Neonatal Mortality
Key Duties
Selected interns will:
- Analyze existing public health datasets
- Generate evidence-based recommendations
- Support policy development
- Prepare analytical reports
- Draft policy briefs
- Contribute to scientific publications
- Participate in quantitative and qualitative research
- Support disease prevention communication campaigns
- Collaborate with government institutions and technical partners
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards
Expected Deliverables
During the internship, successful candidates will be expected to produce:
- Clean datasets ready for analysis
- Approved analytical frameworks
- Research reports with recommendations
- Scientific manuscripts
- Conference abstracts
- Policy briefs for review
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be a Rwandan citizen
- Be 30 years old or younger
- Be a University of Rwanda graduate within the last 12 months
- Hold a Master's Degree in:
- Public Health
- Global Health Delivery
- Epidemiology
- Or another related public health specialization
- Have obtained at least 70% in the final Master's examination

- Experience using databases and data analysis software
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Fluency in English and French
- Kinyarwanda language skills (an added advantage)
