ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

To encourage excellent students to study at Jiangsu University and further activate international students' potential, JSU provides scholarships for international students getting registered for degree programs. The JSU Presidential Scholarship is available at three academic levels Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD each with two categories (Type A and Type B) based on academic merit and background.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS BY DEGREE LEVEL

🎓 PhD (Doctoral Degree Programs)

Type A is open to excellent JSU students continually studying from the master's degree to doctoral degree; applicants recommended by the "Belt and Road" Cooperative Universities; graduate applicants from the top 1,000 universities in the world according to US News & World Report, QS, THE, and ARWU; and graduate applicants from "First-class Universities" in China or top 1% of ESI.

Type A is open to excellent JSU students continually studying from the bachelor's degree to master's degree; graduate applicants from the top 1,000 universities in the world; and graduate applicants from "First-Class Universities" in China or graduates from "First-class Disciplines" or top 1% of ESI. Type B is available to all other admitted master's candidates.

🎓 Bachelor's Degree Programs

Bachelor's programs covered include Clinical Medicine (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Material Science & Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Energy & Power Engineering, Food Quality & Safety, Construction Management, Visual Communication Design, Information Management and Information Systems, Finance, and Marketing.

Type B is open to students from ten ASEAN countries, South Pacific Island countries, European Union countries, five Central Asian countries, Algeria, Libya, South Africa, Tunisia, Ecuador, Russia, United States, Mongolia, Mexico, Nepal, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age Requirements: Bachelor's degree applicants must be under 25 years; Master's degree applicants must be under 30 years; and Doctoral degree applicants must be under 40 years.

Academic Requirements:

Must be a non-Chinese citizen
Eligibility is based on academic merit, university ranking, background, and age criteria, with additional evaluation factors including graduation from top 1,000 global universities, First-Class Universities in China, First-Class Disciplines programs, or institutions ranked in the top 1% of ESI fields.
Only applicable to overseas students who take English-taught degree programs. For Chinese-taught programs, a 40% discount on tuition fee applies.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Required documents include the JSU Presidential Scholarship Application Form, passport copy valid after September 2026, notarized highest degree diploma and transcripts with English or Chinese translation, English proficiency proof such as IELTS or TOEFL, two recommendation letters for postgraduate applicants, a study or research plan of 1,000 words or more for Master's and PhD applicants, CV, medical exam form, and a non-criminal record certificate.

HOW TO APPLY

The application process involves accessing the online application portal at the official JSU website, creating an account with a valid email address, confirming program availability, completing the admission form with accurate personal and academic information, uploading the JSU Presidential Scholarship form along with all required documents, and awaiting review by the Overseas Education College within 30 days.

IMPORTANT TERMS & CONDITIONS

The scholarship is not compatible with winners of other scholarships
For master's and doctoral degree programs, the scholarship will be renewed once a year after annual evaluation of the student's performance, and the award may increase or decrease according to evaluation points
Bachelor students who transfer majors after availing the JSU Presidential Scholarship in the first year must compensate the scholarship amount back to the university before the transfer is approved
JSU reserves the right for final interpretation and explanation of all scholarship matters
