JOB OPPORTUNITY AT SUPREME COURT (SC)
The Supreme Court (SC) is inviting qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Communication Officer. This role aims to strengthen communication and outreach related to judicial decisions and case law, while promoting transparency and public access to justice.
The successful candidate will also ensure that all communication and visibility activities align with European Union (EU) guidelines for EU-funded projects, contributing to improved public understanding of the judiciary and its processes.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in International Relations
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations
- Bachelor's Degree in Communication
- Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies
Experience:
- 0 years of relevant experience required
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda is an added advantage
- Strong writing and editorial skills
- Ability to simplify complex legal information
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Understanding of judicial systems or legal communication
- Knowledge of EU visibility requirements (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in digital communication tools

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Mission
- Support judiciary communication and outreach on judicial decisions and case law
- Ensure compliance with EU communication and visibility guidelines
- Promote transparency and access to judicial information
Specific Tasks
Communication & Visibility:
- Develop and implement communication and visibility plans
- Promote EU support to the justice sector
Case Law Dissemination:
- Collect and summarize landmark decisions
- Publish legal reports, summaries, and bulletins
- Ensure clarity and accessibility of legal information
Media & Public Outreach:
- Prepare press releases, articles, and newsletters
- Coordinate media engagement activities
- Organize outreach events and campaigns
Digital Communication:
- Publish content via Judiciary website, YouTube, X, and other platforms
- Promote digital tools for access to legal information
EU Compliance:
- Ensure all outputs meet EU visibility requirements
- Acknowledge EU support in all communications
- Maintain documentation for reporting and audits
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track communication activities
- Prepare periodic reports
