WMI Scholars Program 2026: A Transformative Academic Opportunity for Aspiring Leaders.

The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholars Program 2026 is now open, offering a powerful opportunity for talented, community-focused students from developing countries to pursue higher education in their home countries or regions. This highly competitive scholarship program is designed for students who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership potential, and a clear commitment to community service, but who face significant financial barriers to accessing university education.

Since its founding in 2005, the Wells Mountain Initiative has supported more than 900 students worldwide, empowering them to become leaders who contribute meaningfully to the social and economic development of their communities.

About the WMI Scholars Program

The WMI Scholarship is a partial scholarship that supports students enrolled in their first undergraduate degree or diploma program. While it does not cover all tuition or living expenses, the award provides essential financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to afford higher education.

WMI Scholars are expected not only to excel academically, but also to actively serve their communities and to return their skills and knowledge to their home countries after graduation.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Applicants to the WMI Scholars Program 2026 must meet the following criteria:

  • Be applying to a university, or currently enrolled in the first undergraduate degree or diploma program.
